Indonesian Studies

Indonesian is the national language of the world’s fourth most populous country. It is closely related to varieties of Malay spoken in Malaysia, Singapore, Southern Thailand and some of the Southern areas of the Philippines. Currently there are very few students studying Indonesian at tertiary level and this has contributed to a shortage of people who can fill vacancies in areas, such as aid and development, trade, commerce, finance, defence, teaching, translation and more. Become a translator, interpreter, languages teacher, tourism, media, social and community work, foreign affairs, trade, customs, immigration, aid agencies, or research assistant.
